We recently completed a Starlink installation at a property in Margate, nestled in the beautiful bushland of southern Tasmania. This setup required a custom roof mount solution due to the steep pitch of the roof and the need for reliable elevation above tree lines for optimal signal coverage.
The mounting hardware was fabricated on-site to suit the client’s tin roof. We used a galvanised tripod mount with bracing arms to ensure long-term stability in strong winds and variable weather conditions. The Starlink satellite dish was installed at a precise location on the rooftop to guarantee a clear line of sight for the satellite signal, maximising the system’s performance.

Once mounted, we ran low-loss cabling through a discrete entry point and securely connected the Starlink router inside the home. We performed speed tests and signal strength checks to ensure the homeowner was getting strong, uninterrupted internet throughout the house.
Starlink has become an increasingly popular choice for clients in rural Tasmania due to its speed, reliability, and ease of installation compared to traditional NBN satellite and mobile broadband options. Margate and the surrounding areas are ideal locations for Starlink, especially where terrain or trees block typical line-of-sight for mobile networks or standard antenna systems.
