We recently completed a VHF antenna system installation for a property in Primrose Sands, Tasmania. Positioned high on a ridgeline with views out over the water, this home required a tailored solution to overcome the unique challenges posed by both coastal exposure and broadcast range.
The client was experiencing poor TV signal reception, particularly during certain weather conditions. After a thorough site inspection, it was determined that a high-gain VHF antenna was the best solution to lock onto the available transmission signals with consistency.
To achieve this, we installed a robust galvanised steel mast mounted securely to the roof structure, supported with tensioned guy wires for added wind stability. The height of the mast and the specific orientation of the antenna were carefully calculated to maximise signal strength from the regional transmission towers.
As part of the installation, we also ran high-quality cable, terminated with weatherproof fittings to ensure long-term performance. The client can now enjoy crystal-clear digital TV channels with reliable reception across all rooms of the house.
