Recently, we completed a combination VHF and UHF antenna installation for a residential property in Pontypool, Tasmania. The client required reliable Free To Air reception for both VHF and UHF frequencies due to the location’s varied broadcast conditions and terrain.
To meet the reception needs in this area, we installed a dual-band VHF/UHF antenna system mounted on a heavy-duty mast with a triple guy-wire support system for added stability in high wind conditions. The elevated mounting ensures clear line-of-sight to the broadcast towers, helping to minimise signal interference and dropout.

This type of combination setup is ideal for rural and coastal regions where stations may be broadcast on different bands. It also allows the homeowner to receive a wider range of channels and better signal redundancy, regardless of atmospheric conditions.
The installation was completed with high-quality cabling, weatherproof connectors, and a signal booster to enhance reception across the entire home. The client now enjoys uninterrupted TV viewing on all major Freeview channels.
