This project involved the installation of a new VHF antenna system at a property in Nubeena, providing the homeowners with reliable free-to-air television reception in a picturesque rural setting.
Every property presents its own reception challenges, particularly in regional areas where surrounding hills, dense vegetation and varying elevations can all influence signal quality. That’s why every antenna installation begins with selecting the most suitable mounting location to maximise reception while ensuring the system remains secure for years to come.
For this installation, the antenna was mounted on a tall, guyed mast to provide additional height above the roofline. Raising the antenna helps improve its line of sight towards the broadcast transmitters, while the guy wire support system keeps the mast stable during strong winds and changing weather conditions. The elevated mounting position also reduces the impact of nearby trees and undulating terrain on signal performance.
Once installed, the antenna was carefully aligned to achieve the strongest possible signal for the property. Combined with quality mounting hardware and a neat, professional finish, the completed system is designed to deliver reliable free-to-air television with minimal maintenance.
