This Levendale property has a row of glasshouses set down the slope from the house, where the owners grow their own vegetables and raise seedlings over winter. WiFi from inside had never reached that far, so checking on irrigation timers or temperature out there meant walking down to look rather than glancing at a phone. It was manageable, but it made keeping an eye on things a lot more physical than it needed to be.
Splitting the Job Into Internet and Coverage
We installed a Starlink system for the household’s own connection, and alongside it, a dedicated outdoor access point aimed specifically at the glasshouses rather than trying to blanket the whole block. For a job like this, targeting the one area that actually needed coverage made more sense than a broader mesh setup built for acreage the household doesn’t need connected.

The Starlink dish went up on its usual freestanding tripod near the chimney, while the access point was mounted lower down on its own compact stand, angled to throw a clean signal straight down the slope toward the glasshouses rather than back over the roof.
